Patrícia—a name that embodies strength and courage—is an inspiration to many. Her life has always been closely connected to sport, which became not only her passion but also her way of life.
From a young age, she achieved success in classic nine-pin bowling, where she was part of the Slovak national team for seven years. Patrícia won several championship and runner-up titles, and her talent took her to the international stage, where she ranked among the best at world championships.
In 2023, however, her life changed unexpectedly when she was diagnosed with rapidly progressing multiple sclerosis. For many, this would mean the end of their dreams—but not for Patrícia. After the initial shock, she decided that sport would remain her medicine and a way to overcome new challenges. “Sport is my medicine,” she said firmly, and set out to push her limits at her own pace.
Her determination and resilience led her to take on the Stezka Českem trail. The goal of this journey is not only to fight the disease, but also to show that it is possible to live life to the fullest even with it. Patrícia wants to inspire people facing similar challenges, while also helping the most vulnerable—children with multiple sclerosis. Every step along this path symbolizes mental freedom, motivation, and resilience, carrying a positive message among people.
Through her journey, Patrícia shows how difficulties can be overcome and how inner strength can be the key to success. Every kilometer she completes on the Stezka Českem has deep meaning for her and represents her determination to live life fully. It is a story about how resilience can be a celebration of life, despite the challenges it brings.
Patrícia invited us to become part of her journey and help children with multiple sclerosis. Through the project “Adopt My Kilometers,” people could support her efforts and help raise funds for essential equipment for the Clinic of Pediatric Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University, National Institute of Children’s Diseases. Every euro was used to improve conditions for young patients.
